Changes to HPV Vaccine Doseage

From the 6th of February 2023, the dosing schedule for human papillomavirus (HPV) has changed to a single dose.

The HPV vaccine (Gardasil®9) is funded and delivered to young people aged approximately 12-13 years old, and the National Immunisation Program (NIP) free catch-up program for the HPV vaccine has been extended from 19 years to those under 26 years old.

This means that those who have received a single dose before age 26 (except for those who are immunocompromised) are now considered fully vaccinated and a further dose is not required.

If you are under 26 and you have not had a HPV vaccine and would like to book an appointment, or would like to book your child for their Year 7 vaccinations, you can speak to our reception by calling us on (07) 4315 6939.
