Influenza Vaccines

The influenza vaccine role-out has started across Queensland. This can be co-administered with your Covid-19 vaccine should you wish to do so. A reminder that the National Immunisation Program (NIP) provide free influenza vaccinations to only certain groups:

  • People aged 65 and over
  • Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perople aged 6 months and over
  • Children 6 months to less than 5 years
  • People 6 months and over with certain medical conditions that increase their risk of severe influenza and its complications.

If you are not a part of one of the above groups, the Government is offering all Queensland residents over the age of 6 months the influenza vaccine for free in 2024. This programme has now commenced and will conclude on 30 September 2024.
